Release Day!!! - November 6, 2012

I almost can't believe it.  It's here.  It's finally here.  The day my debut novel, The Anatomist's Wife, releases to the public.   It's the day I've been dreaming of for so long.  To be able to share my stories with the world.  Today, I'll be able to walk into my local Barnes & Noble and see The Anatomist's Wife sitting on the shelf next to some of the mystery authors I love so much.  I can now officially say, I'm a... Guest Blogging at - November 5, 2012

I'm guest blogging today at my amazing friend Stacie Roth Miller's blog.  I've known Stacie since we were about four-years-old, climbing over the giant tires that amounted to play equipment in our small town's park playground, while our brothers played baseball nearby.  Along with our friend Thera, we imagined we were Rainbow Brite and her pals, saving the world from Murky Dismal.  (What names!)  Stacie is a talented writer in her own right, and her blog posts are a... Halloweens Gone By - October 31, 2012

Halloween has always been among my favorite holidays. Candy, costumes, parties. Pumpkins, apple-bobbing, bonfires. I don’t go in much for scary things, whether movies or haunted houses, but I love the spirit of Halloween. The fun of it all.  One of the first Halloweens I remember happened when I was in Kindergarten. For my costume that year I went as Punky Brewster (remember her?), complete with smiling sun pigtail hair ties. To this day, that is still m... Playing Goldilocks with Romance - October 30, 2012

Of all the elements that make up The Anatomist’s Wife, the one I’ve received the most questions concerning, and the most conflicting opinions over, is the romance. Specifically, the amount. First off, people want to know if it’s a romance novel. And the answer is no. It isn’t. It’s most definitely a historical mystery. But there is undeniably a romantic subplot—the strength of which will vary from person to person. For example, i...
