MANor Candy Monday - Urquhart Castle - August 5, 2013

It's MANor Candy Monday, and today we're ogling Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. I had the privilege of visiting the ruins of this castle on my trip to the UK in 2010, and I must say it was one of my favorites. It's so atmospheric, and in a beautiful location. ... Cover Reveal - Girl on the Golden Coin - July 29, 2013

We interrupt this regularly scheduled MANor Candy Monday to bring you some Cover Candy instead. And isn't it delicious?  I'm so pleased to share with you the cover of my friend Marci Jefferson's debut novel Girl on the Golden Coin: A Novel of Frances Stuart. I met Marci just a little more than a year ago. We were introduced to each other through our mutual agent, and shocked to discover we both lived in the same small Midwestern city. We couldn't believe we'd never met and I was thrilled t... Click Here To Read More >>

MANor Candy Monday - Peveril Castle - July 22, 2013

Today's MANor Candy is the romantic ruins of 11th century Peveril Castle in Castleton, Derbyshire, England, UK. It's located in the Peak District, and is also known as Castleton Castle and Peak Castle. The day we visited Peveril on our 2010 Trip to the UK, it was rainy and gloomy, and so our pictures did not turn out so well. But I was able to find a few better shots online.               ... MANor Candy Monday & More - July 15, 2013

I'm in the midst of cleaning, packing and otherwise preparing for my trip to Atlanta tomorrow to attend the RWA National Conference. Last year I was so nervous. It was my first RWA, and my first writer's conference ever. I had no idea what to expect, or whether the clothing I packed would be correct. (Business Casual is way too broad a range.) In any case, everything worked out fine, and I had a great time and met some wonderful people. So this year, I'm mostly just extremely excited. It will be... Click Here To Read More >>

Becoming Josephine Cover Reveal - July 12, 2013

I'm so happy to be part of my friend Heather Webb's cover reveal for her debut historical novel Becoming Josephine. I first met Heather online through a mutual author friend last autumn. She was incredibly supportive and kind, hosting me on her blog. I finally got the chance to meet her in person at the Historical Novel Society Conference and was so happy to discover she's just as lovely in real life. Her laughter and enthusiasm is infectious, and you can bet I'll be downloading her debut n... Click Here To Read More >>

Favorites Friday - Beaches - July 5, 2013

Last week I was on vacation at the beach, and, oh, my goodness, was it nice. Relaxing under an umbrella reading. Soaking in the sunshine and cool ocean breezes. It's been several years since we spent any significant time at the beach, and I'd forgotten how nice it could be. The place we stayed came highly recommended, and those people were spot on. I can't praise the SeaShell Condos enough. Located on Crescent Beach on Siesta Key, they're spacious and clean and comfy. Our unit had recently been... Click Here To Read More >>

This week's MANor Candy is Dunstaffnage Castle, a partiallly ruined castle located just northeast of Oban in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, UK.
