National Pigtails Day - April 26, 2013

Thanks to the genius of my friend Samantha, some other ladies and I have decided to make today National Pigtails Day. It's unofficial, but fun, nonetheless. The world can always use a little more joy, and hopefully we'll bring a smile to someone's face. Please feel free to join us, and share your pics with me on Facebook or Twitter. I would love to see them.       In keeping with the fun and silliness of the day, I'm also thinking... Click Here To Read More >>

WIP Wednesday - A Playlist for Kiera and Gage - April 24, 2013

As a writer, I spend a lot of time thinking about my fictional characters and trying to get into their heads. So it's only natural that when I listen to music, sometimes it's with their ears. And as such, there are some songs that would have more meaning to those characters than others. In this spirit, I've begun compiling a playlist for Kiera and Gage. It's kindof a fun idea, and I intend to continue to add to it from time to time. But for now, these are the first four songs: 1) ... Click Here To Read More >>

MANor Candy Monday - Eilean Donan Castle - April 22, 2013

This week's MANor Candy is Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich in the Highlands of Scotland. You'll notice that it looks very much like the castle that is used on the cover of Mortal Arts, Lady Darby Book 2. However, I will say that the actual Eilean Donan Castle is not featured in the book. The castle on the cover is meant to represent the fictitious Bambogle Castle, which stands along the shores of the Firth of Forth. When I was writing... Favorites Friday - Perfume - April 19, 2013

This Favorites Friday I'm talking perfume. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm extremely picky about scents. Smells seem to be stronger for me than other people, particularly colognes and perfumes. I absolutely hate walking through the cosmetic department at stores like Macy's. Spending as little as five minutes in the vicinity can give me a massive headache. I've been searching for years for a perfume to replace the Curve I used to where in college, but grew tired of. I like fresh... Click Here To Read More >>

I'm so excited to share the cover of MORTAL ARTS with you!  I think it's absolutely gorgeous, and I love how well it fits with the cover of the first book, THE ANATOMIST'S WIFE.  Kudos to the Berkley Publishing Art Department - they've crafted another winner! ... Click Here To Read More >>

MANor Candy Monday - Avebury Manor - April 15, 2013

This week's MANor Candy is Avebury Manor in Avebury, Wiltshire, sight of the famed Avebury Stone Circle. The manor's grounds back up to the Avebury's church, which features an 11th century Saxon nave.                                                ... Click Here To Read More >>

Favorites Friday - Historical Mystery/Suspense Authors - April 12, 2013

Today I'm introducing the last of my blog's new features -  Favorites Friday - and I've decided to kick it off by providing a listing of some of my favorite historical mystery/suspense authors.  One of my readers, Donna, recently asked me who some of my favorite and/or inspiring historical thriller writers are.  I provided a list on FB, but I also thought it would be nice to post it here, along with a link or two to some of their books and their ... MANor Candy Monday - Alnwick Castle - April 8, 2013

I'm introducing a few new features this week.  Today is MANor Candy Monday - a little tongue-in-cheek, I know, but fun.  Every Monday I'll feature a manor or castle from the UK.  We begin with noble and beautiful Alnwick Castle in Alnwick, Northumberland, residence of the Dukes of Northumberland.                                        ...
