Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins

I thoroughly enjoyed Higgins' latest, but then again, I always enjoy her books.  And I always know what to expect - nice-girl heroines who are just a little bit quirky, handsome heroes who are bit rough around the edges and often underestimated, and a cute pet sidekick, usually a dog, set in small town New England.  The combination is positively charming.  It's no wonder Higgins has already won two Rita Awards.  I also appreciate the fact that Higgins writes about adults--with kids and bills, and sometimes divorce and death--and portrays their life and love struggles realistically.  She also has a knack for humor, some of it laugh out loud.  And if nothing else, she always makes me smile - a vastly underrated quality, and one I admire.

Posey Osterhagen can't complain. She owns a successful architectural salvaging company, she's surrounded by her loveable, if off-center, family and she has a boyfriend—sort of. Still, something's missing. Something tall, brooding and criminally good-looking...something like Liam Murphy.
