My husband and I just saw a wonderful movie about the early life of Queen Victoria of Great Britain.  The Young Victoria portrays Queen Victoria's life in the years just before and after her ascension to the throne, as well as her romance with her husband Prince Albert.  Emily Blunt does a marvelous job playing the young monarch, and Rupert Friend excels in his portrayal of her husband. 

I admit I have a soft spot for historicals, particularly when they are well cast and scripted.  I love learning about the lives of those who came before us and taking in the sumptuous costumes and settings.  The fact that I am already aware of what will happen does not take away from the enjoyment for me, but highten it.  It makes me yearn for a time machine, so that I might journey back to experience a bygone era.  

If you enjoy historical movies, beautiful costumes, or simply a wonderful and true-life romance, The Young Victoria is not to be missed.
