'Dem Boots, 'Dem Boots
August 27, 2010

Those of you who know me understand how much I love boots.  Tall, short; black, brown, purple; classy, biker-chic - I love them all.  And every year when autumn rolls around (hey, it's almost September - close enough), my mouth starts salivating.  I already have quite an impressive collection, but I can still find more pairs to love.  So, I must strictly limit myself to two purchases per season (or maybe three if there's just too awesome a sale/clearance).  Because of our pending trip to the UK, I was forced (or chose, depends on how you look at it) to use one of my boot puchases on a pair of knee-high, black, flat (1 inch heel) riding boots.

I already had a pair of black knee-highs, but I didn't think walking around London would be much fun, or comfortable, in a 3 inch heel.  Not to mention the fact that this pair is just oh-so-cute, and seemed quite perfect for the UK.

I really want a pair of distressed brown biker boots, kind of like this pair.

As for the booties/shooties that seem to be popular this year, the jury is still out.  I think they're sharp-looking, but I'm not so sure they would be sharp-looking on me.  Seems like one of those trends that really only look good on tall, skinny, long-legged women (aka - not me).  I love my legs and my ankles, but I also know they're not sticks (part of the reason I love them).

I have several friends who absolutely hate boots, and refuse to where them unless there is 10 inches of snow on the ground.  Incidentally, these are the same people who tend to LOVE flip-flops (which I enjoy, but not to the extent of fanaticism.)  What about you?  Do you like boots, or do you hate covering up your feet/legs that much?
