MANor Candy Monday & More - July 15, 2013

I'm in the midst of cleaning, packing and otherwise preparing for my trip to Atlanta tomorrow to attend the RWA National Conference. Last year I was so nervous. It was my first RWA, and my first writer's conference ever. I had no idea what to expect, or whether the clothing I packed would be correct. (Business Casual is way too broad a range.) In any case, everything worked out fine, and I had a great time and met some wonderful people. So this year, I'm mostly just extremely excited. It will be... Click Here To Read More >>

Becoming Josephine Cover Reveal - July 12, 2013

I'm so happy to be part of my friend Heather Webb's cover reveal for her debut historical novel Becoming Josephine. I first met Heather online through a mutual author friend last autumn. She was incredibly supportive and kind, hosting me on her blog. I finally got the chance to meet her in person at the Historical Novel Society Conference and was so happy to discover she's just as lovely in real life. Her laughter and enthusiasm is infectious, and you can bet I'll be downloading her debut n... Click Here To Read More >>

Today's MANor Candy Monday is Chepstow Castle located in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales, UK. Nestled in the heart of the village, Chepstow is also worth checking out. It's a gorgeous, old castle, well-worth a visit.                               ... Click Here To Read More >>

Favorites Friday - Beaches - July 5, 2013

Last week I was on vacation at the beach, and, oh, my goodness, was it nice. Relaxing under an umbrella reading. Soaking in the sunshine and cool ocean breezes. It's been several years since we spent any significant time at the beach, and I'd forgotten how nice it could be. The place we stayed came highly recommended, and those people were spot on. I can't praise the SeaShell Condos enough. Located on Crescent Beach on Siesta Key, they're spacious and clean and comfy. Our unit had recently been... Click Here To Read More >>

MANor Candy Monday - Dunstaffnage Castle - July 1, 2013

This week's MANor Candy is Dunstaffnage Castle, a partiallly ruined castle located just northeast of Oban in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, UK. It's not an easy castle to find, being down a windy road through a subdivision. We got lost several times trying to locate it.  ... Click Here To Read More >>

It's MANor Candy Monday, and today I'm featuring Stokesay Castle, located outside the town of Craven Arms, in Shropshire, UK. This fortified manor house lies near the border of England with Wales, which explains why it needed fortified.                              ... Click Here To Read More >>

Favorites Friday - Historical Novels - June 21, 2013

Today I'm traveling to the Historical Novel Society North American Conference, and in honor of that I've decided to list just a few of my favorite Historical authors. They may write Historical Mysteries, or Historical Romance, Time-Slips or simply straight Historical Fiction. But in whatever shape or form, they are fabulous. Tasha Alexander - Her Lady Emily series is smart and entertaining, and the title character travels to some fascinating locations in the late Victorian era. The latest, Deat... Reader's Questions - My Writing Process - June 19, 2013

I recently asked my followers on Facebook for any questions they would like me to answer, and several of them asked about my writing process. They wondered whether certain times of the day work best for me. Yes and no. I should really do better at having a set schedule, but the truth is, I don’t have one. I can usually write at about any time of day, as long as I put myself in the right place mentally to do so. However, I do have some issues with the mid-afternoon slump, so that’s...
